Mission Statement
The Booger Lights Project:
A Mission Statement
A part of the purpose of this site is to catalogue and bring greater public awareness to ghost lights and earthlight phenomena in the American South. The author’s position is that these mysterious lights result from unknown or little-understood physical, chemical, or optical processes. In citing the legends surrounding these events, he does not imply a supernatural character to any sighting or group of sightings. Neither, will he try to explain away or “de-bunk” these lights. It is his belief that some events are more interesting as mysteries and that some mysteries are better left unsolved. The author takes no responsibility for cited secondary sources that may be in error or conditions that might have changed since initially researched. As with all paranormal tourism, it is the reader’s responsibility to scout the location, identify hazards, and to gain permission before attempting to access private property.
